22 March - 1 April 2018
KOP Artspace // Amerikalei 128 // 2000 Antwerpen

Imagine a place where artists come together, that overflows with inspiration, creativity and coffee and provides a peaceful escape from the world outside.
The workspace of collectief ZWAK not only serves as a safe haven for their artistic explorations but also embodies its members collective consciousness.

Their first group exhibition LOCUS AMOENUS exists of a reconstruction of their beloved workplace at the KOP artspace. After extensively researching the dynamics that bind together the seven artists and their crafts, the collective found a way to access their individual and collective artistic identity. Rather than creating individual works, the artists invest in an on-going collective enterprise, focusing on the process rather than the outcome.

True to it’s name, LOCUS AMOENUS is a way of sharing their carefully curated microcosm with the public. The exhibition allows to delve deep into their shared aesthetics, which combines illustration, graphic design, photography, ceramics, poetry, jewellery- and fashion design.

The exhibition LOCUS AMOENUS opens Thursday March 22nd and runs until April 1st.
